Privacy Policy

The operator of FamPi! (hereinafter referred to as “the App” and “we”) respects your personal information and establishes the following Privacy Policy. By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

The App collects the following information to provide its services.

The App does not collect phone numbers, physical addresses, legal names, dates of birth, or other personally identifying information.

About location: The App provides a “location sharing” feature. Location is collected in the background only when a child member enables location sharing on their device, for the purpose of family safety monitoring, and is shared with members of the same family. Disabling location sharing stops collection and sharing. Because location is sensitive information, we handle it carefully in accordance with this Policy.

2. Purpose of Use

The collected information is used solely for the following purposes:

• Providing core functionality (message delivery, notifications, family member management)
• Providing the location sharing feature (family safety monitoring of children)
• Providing the voice call feature
• Providing paid plans and managing billing/subscription status
• Authentication and identity verification
• Detecting and preventing abuse
• Generating anonymous statistics for service improvement

3. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell, transfer, or otherwise disclose user information to third parties.

However, the App uses the following external services to provide its functionality:

• Google LLC (Firebase): Authentication, database, push notifications, server-side functions, image storage (Cloud Storage)

• Google LLC (Google Maps): Processes location to display the map on the location sharing screen

Except when required by law, we will not share information with any other third parties.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

• Data is retained until the user deletes their account.
• Location data is retained as the latest location plus, depending on the feature, recent movement history (up to roughly 24 hours). Disabling location sharing stops collection and sharing of new locations.
• Account deletion is available anytime from “Settings → Delete Account” within the App.
• Deleting a master account will delete all data of the entire family.
• Child and adult members can be deleted by the master via “Remove from family”.
• Deleted data cannot be recovered.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is designed for family use including elementary-school-aged children. For children under 13, the parent (master) manages the child’s account; the child themselves cannot delete their account or remove authentication. The parent can view, edit, and delete the child’s data through the App’s functionality.

Sharing a child’s location is a feature intended for safety monitoring, and location sharing can be turned on or off on the child member’s device. Parents are responsible for explaining how location information is handled within the family to their child and for managing it appropriately.

6. Security

• All communications are encrypted via HTTPS.
• Firestore Security Rules prevent access to family data from outside the family.
• However, we do not guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

The App is a mobile application and does not use web-based cookies. However, the Firebase SDK may store authentication tokens and similar data on the device.

8. Disclaimer

8.1 Data Loss and Accidental Deletion

• Data stored in the App (messages, family information, stamp history, etc.) may be lost or accidentally deleted for any reason.
• We assume no liability whatsoever for any loss, corruption, or accidental deletion of data, regardless of cause.
• Users are responsible for backing up or otherwise recording important information on their own.

8.2 Service Continuity

• We reserve the right to suspend, modify, or terminate the App without prior notice.
• We are not liable for any damage arising from service suspension or termination.

8.3 Third-Party Service Failures

• We are not liable if the App becomes unavailable due to outages of third-party services such as Firebase, Apple, or Google.

9. User Rights

Users have the following rights regarding their personal information:

• Access: View your profile and message history inside the App
• Correction: Edit display name, icon, etc. from the settings screen
• Deletion: Delete data via “Delete Account” inside the App
• Inquiries: Contact us using the address below

10. Changes to This Policy

This Policy may be revised according to changes in law or the App’s features. Significant changes will be announced within the App.
